Sunday 7 April: Wembley Stadium event (Bristol Street Motors Final - Peterborough United vs Wycombe Wanderers)

Kick Off: 16:30

We are expecting high volumes of passengers to travel to and from the event. As the kick-off time has been changed, we have had to make some special changes to the timetable, which are summarised below. The changes have been designed to help cater for the significant number of additional passengers expected to travel on our services to and from Wembley Stadium.

Travel from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross

An enhanced service with additional and longer trains will operate from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross to Wembley Stadium from approximately 11.00 and then for the rest of the day including the return journey after the match.

Travel from the Amersham area

To facilitate the high volume of customers travelling on the route via High Wycombe, no Chiltern Railways services will operate between Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham) all day, with rail replacement buses in place to Amersham for onward connections to central London via the Metropolitan Line.

We know from May 2022 (the last time that Wycombe Wanderers played at Wembley Stadium) that many supporters chose to travel in from Amersham and London Underground are scheduled to operate a ½ hourly direct service between Amersham and Wembley Park. There is a large multi-story car park a five minute walk from Amersham underground station and customers using the Metropolitan Line are encouraged to use Contactless / Oyster to pay for their travel.

Traveling back after the match

A queuing system will also be in place at Wembley Stadium station after the match and, although we are running additional services, we expect there will be extended wait times due to the crowds leaving the venue all at the same time.

Customers are asked not to board services from Wembley Stadium to London Marylebone to try to pick up a train back to High Wycombe, unless they intend on staying in central London. ALL additional trains to High Wycombe will start from Wembley Stadium and so minimal capacity will be provided from London Marylebone.

For customers using Chiltern Railways but not travelling to the match, please be aware that services will be much busier than usual and we advise checking your journey before you travel.
