<p>Chiltern Railways has been awarded best train operator at the first ever Independent Travel Awards</p>
<p>The company was up against other rail providers at home and abroad, including both busy commuter and luxury heritage operators such as Argentinian Railways, Trenitalia, Eurostar, Virgin Trains, Venice Simplon-Orient Express and Great Western Railway’s Night Riviera. </p>
<p>The awards were voted for by the public which distilled down to a shortlist from which a panel of ten expert judges selected the winners. </p>
<p>Chiltern Railways, Managing Director, Rob Brighouse, said: “Winning this award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire Chiltern Railways team who work tirelessly to deliver excellent customer service to our customers. It means so much that the initial nomination came from our passengers.”</p>
<p>This comes at a time when the company are poised ready to launch a new rail line between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone on 26<sup>th</sup> October. The project constitutes an investment of £130 million for the business.</p>
