Chiltern Railways announces 2018 Boxing Day service

•    A Chiltern Railways service will run from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone via Bicester Village station offering travel on a day when rail stations are traditionally closed.

With only nine weeks until Christmas, Chiltern Railways wants to help customers plan how to spend their festive period by announcing the details of its special Boxing Day service between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone.

By offering services on a day that train companies are traditionally closed, Chiltern is allowing Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire residents to access the capital, and help Londoners escape the city and do some shopping in Bicester Village.

Eleni Jordan, Commercial Director at Chiltern Railways said: “Although it’s unusual for the railway to be open on Boxing Day, we’ve found this service to be very popular with our customers.  We’re delighted to once again offer this and give our customers another reason to leave the car behind and visit some of the amazing attractions on our route.”

Trains will run from approximately 08.00 - 20.00 and will call at Oxford Parkway, Bicester Village, Haddenham and Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross and London Marylebone.

The first northbound train will depart from London Marylebone to Oxford Parkway via Bicester Village Station at 08.00 with the last train departing London Marylebone at 20:15 terminating at Princes Risborough at 20:58.

Southbound, the first train will run from Princes Risborough to London at 08.40 and the last will run from Oxford Parkway via Bicester Village Station to London Marylebone at 20.35 arriving at London Marylebone at 21.52.
