Great British Rail Sale 2024 Terms and Conditions

1.0 Chiltern Railways Great British Rail Sale Promotion

1.1 These terms and conditions apply to the Great British Rail Sale, a promotion coordinated by ATOC Ltd on behalf of participating Train Companies for the Promotional Period.

1.2 Over one million promotional Rail Sale Tickets will be available on selected journeys across the National Rail network (in England and to/from Scotland and Wales) for the Promotional Period.

1.3 Chiltern Railway Ltd will have 15,000 standard class Advance fare tickets available to purchase within the Promotional Period.

1.4 The Promotional Period will run from 10:00 on 23 January 2024 until all Rail Sale Tickets have been sold or 23:59 on 29 January 2024, whichever is sooner. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

1.5 Promotion travel period between 07 February 2024 and 15 March 2024. The number of Rail Sale Tickets available during the Promotional Period is limited and subject to availability (see clause 2 below).

1.6 Rail Sale Tickets must be purchased a minimum of 1 day in advance of travel.

1.7 Promotional rail sale is for Advance fare one way ticket(s), reduced by 50% on the ordinary price and subject to availability.

1.8 This is an online sale to purchase via the Chiltern Railways website and mobile app – available to download from Apple App Store and Google Play.

1.9 Advance ticket(s) are only valid for the day and travel time shown on your ticket(s), travelling on Chiltern Railways plus connecting Train Companies where applicable.

1.10 Advance ticket(s) are available on selected routes only and are subject to availability.

1.11 All Advance tickets are sold as single (one way) tickets.

1.12 Changes of travel date and time are permitted up until the time of departure of the first booked train shown on your ticket(s).

Changes to Advance tickets after this time will be subject to normal terms and conditions, with a £10 admin fee plus any difference in fare payable per single ticket. The origin, destination and Train Company or route shown on the ticket(s) must remain the same. Any changes made to Advance tickets after the first booked service has departed are invalid and a new ticket must be purchased to travel.

1.13 You may not start, break and resume, or end your journey at an intermediate station except to change to/from appropriate connecting trains where these are shown on your ticket(s) or other official itinerary.

2.0 Selected Routes, Limited Availability and Exclusions

2.1 The number of Rail Sale Tickets offered by each participating Train Company will vary and are limited in number.

2.2 Tickets are not available on all routes and times.

2.3 Railcard discounts are not permitted for Rail Sale Tickets and no other discounts can be used in conjunction with the Rail Sale Tickets.

2.4 Tickets from £3.20 one-way available for the Promotional Period on Chiltern Railway direct services in both direction between London Marylebone and Birmingham Snow Hill, Birmingham Moor Street, Acocks Green, Banbury, Bearley, Claverdon, Cradley Heath, Dorridge, Hatton, Jewellery Quarter, Kidderminster, Kings Sutton, Lapworth, Leamington Spa, Olton, Rowley Regis, Solihull, Stourbridge Junction, Stratford-upon-Avon, Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway, The Hawthorns, Warwick, Warwick Parkway, Widney Manor, Wilmcote.

2.5 Tickets from £2.70 one-way available for the Promotional Period on Chiltern Railway direct services in both direction between London Marylebone, Oxford, Oxford Parkway and Islip.

2.6 Promotional Advance tickets are not available for stations between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Harrow-on-the-Hill, or between Aylesbury and Monks Risborough.

2.7 Availability is subject to specific travel exclusions across some routes due to engineering improvement works. Exclusions to travel and restrictions apply on certain journeys. These include:

  • 10/03/2024

These are subject to change.

3.0 General

3.1 ATOC Ltd and/or Chiltern Railway Ltd reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without notice and to take appropriate action to close the offer or withdraw the Rail Sale Tickets from sale at any time.

3.2 Usual Train Company terms and conditions of purchase, National Rail Conditions of Travel, and Advance ticket terms and conditions apply.

3.3 The promoter of the Great British Rail Sale is ATOC Ltd on behalf of participating Train Companies. ATOC Limited is a company registered in England and Wales under company no. 03069033, whose registered office is at First Floor North, 1 Puddle Dock, London, England, EC4V 3DS.
