Chiltern Railways will be introducing a new timetable from Sunday 16 May in preparation for the next phase of the government’s roadmap in England. The train operator has been running a reduced timetable since March 2020, ensuring that vital train services for key workers continue to run throughout the Coronavirus outbreak.
The new timetable will increase capacity and improve connectivity on weekend trains between London Marylebone and Birmingham and London Marylebone and Oxford. Weekday services will remain largely unchanged - off-peak Monday – Friday there will be, on average, three trains an hour to Aylesbury (two via the Metropolitan line and one via High Wycombe), and two trains an hour to Oxford and Birmingham.
Customers are advised to:
- Travel during quieter times where possible,
- Go online or download the Chiltern app to access the latest information and to book tickets,
- Use contactless payments and avoid paying with cash in stations,
- Keep a safe distance from passengers and staff in stations and onboard trains,
- Wear face coverings at stations and onboard public transport unless exempt,
- Regularly wash your hands before and after your journey,
- Please stay home if you feel unwell.
