Chiltern Railways to run additional services during Oxford improvement works

Chiltern Railways has announced it will provide over 70,000 additional seats on services between Oxford and London during the Network Rail improvement works which start this Saturday 23 July and run through until Sunday 30 July 2017.

The railway upgrade, which will mean a nine-day closure of the line between Oxford, Didcot and Banbury, will affect train services operated by CrossCountry and Great Western Railway.

The Chiltern line will be unaffected by the closure and will convey passengers to and from London as usual. However, regular commuters are advised that trains during this time are expected to be busier than usual, with some services being retimed to accommodate Great Western Railway customers travelling to London.
