Chiltern Railways will run a festival timetable to help customers make their preparations for the Christmas getaway and the festive period.
The company will be one of the only operators open between Oxford and London Marylebone on a selection of dates, as engineering work takes place between Reading and London Paddington on 23rd, 24th and 30th December.
As a result, Chiltern Railways will be adding over 16,000 seats on these dates and they will also have additional helpers at stations.
Alan Riley, Customer Services Director said:
“As with every year, we will run a festive timetable between the 23rd December and 2nd January. We expect our trains to be particularly busy and have made our trains as long as possible throughout this busy period.
“Our additional helpers will also be out and about to provide reassurance to those who may need extra help and information. We advise anyone travelling during this time to check their journey before they travel and to buy their ticket on our website or our app.”
The train company will also be operating a service on Boxing Day between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone.
