Information for East Midlands Railway (EMR) Customers

For as long as the Midland Mainline is closed at Bedford, train operators including Chiltern Railways are accepting tickets for EMR customers. If your journey is affected, we'll accept tickets on any alternative route. If you decide to travel on EMR once the line is reopened, then your connecting ticket on other operators will be valid on that other day too.

Sunday 21 June 2026:

Amended timetables will be in operation, in respect of the following:

  • Euston - Birmingham New Street route closure.

An enhanced Chiltern Railways service will operate between Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street, with lengthened and some additional trains.

Due to over-length trains, Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth will be served by rail replacement buses as follows:

  • 🚌 Bicester North - Kings Sutton - Banbury.
  • 🚌 Warwick Parkway - Hatton - Lapworth - Dorridge.
  • These buses should be used for local journeys to/from Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth ONLY.

Rail replacement buses will also operate between Leamington Spa - Warwick - Stratford Upon Avon Parkway - Stratford Upon Avon all day, connecting with trains at Leamington Spa. Note: These buses will not call at Warwick, due to planned road works. Passengers requiring to travel between Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon will need to travel via Leamington Spa.

In connection with the Euston - Birmingham New Street route closure, no Chiltern Railways train services will operate between Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham). Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Amersham.

  • 🚌 Amersham - Great Missenden - Wendover - Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury - Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

Online journey planners have been updated for each of these changes.
