Network Rail to install lifts at Warwick Station
What's Happening?
Works at the station were started in February 2023 to install two new lifts at Warwick station to improve accessibility for customers. As part of this project; the subway will also be extended to create a new set of stairs on platform 1.
Work was stopped due to the discovery of old station foundations during the excavation. This resulted in the subway being temporary reopened whilst further investigation took place.
However, these works are due to start again from Friday 6 September 2024 and the subway will be closed again (please scroll down for more information about the subway closure).
Will access to the station be impacted?
You’ll still be able to access the station, though the ticket office may occasionally be closed. There are plenty of other ways to buy a ticket, such as our website, app or by using the self-service machines.
The works are due to restart on Friday 6 September 2024 until early March 2025.
During this period, the subway will be closed; customers should follow the sign posted diversionary route between platforms 1 and 2.
How will my train be affected?
Most of our services will continue to stop as normal.
We advise customers to check your journey before travelling by using our journey planner or by downloading the Chiltern Railways app.
