Friday 19th - Monday 22nd April

What's happening?

Major engineering work will be taking place along the West Coast Mainline and London Euston railway station will be closed. More customers will be travelling with Chiltern Railways and trains will be busier than normal.

The following services will run in both directions:

  • 2 per hour, Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone. All Birmingham services will start and terminate at Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 1 per hour, Banbury to London Marylebone.
  • Oxford to London Marylebone services will be retimed and trains will be made longer throughout the day.
  • 1 per hour Aylebury to London Marylebone (via Amersham), with 2 per hour in the evening service.
  • Stratford to Leamington Spa shuttle will run on an amended service.

Rail replacement buses will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • There will be a service operating between Warwick Parkway - Hatton - Lapworth - Dorridge.
  • A service for customers in Kings Sutton, operating between Banbury - Kings Sutton - Bicester North.

Who will be affected?

All of our lines will operate to an amended timetable and all customer journeys will be affected. As London Euston is closed, and no trains will go in or out of Euston, more people will be travelling with Chiltern Railways. This means that trains will be much busier than usual and customers may have to travel via alternative routes or on rail replacement buses.

Advice to customers

The best days to travel would be Thursday 18th April and Tuesday 23rd, either side of the bank holiday weekend. Customers planning to travel on the 19th-22nd April should allow extra time into their journey as journey times will be longer than usual. Customers are also advised that trains will be busier than normal.

Monday 28th April - Thursday 2nd May

What's happening?

Late night engineering works mean that late night trains will be amended.

The following trains are amended as shown below:

  • 22.37 Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street is retimed between Leamington Spa and Birmingham Moor Street:
    • Leamington Spa 23.59 - Warwick 00.03 - Warwick Parkway 00.06 - Dorridge 00.15 - Solihull 00.20 - Beamington Moor Street 00.33.
  • 23.07 Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street is replaced by a bus between Leamington Spa and Birmingham Moor Street:
    • Bus times: Leamington Spa 00.30 - Warwick 00.40 - Warwick Parkway 00.50 - Dorridge 01.05 - Solihull 01.15 - Birmingham Moor Street 01.40.

Who will be affected?

Customers travelling on late night trains between Leamington Spa and Birmingham Moor Street will be affected. Journey times will be considerably longer and customers may have to travel on rail replacement buses.

Advice to customers

Customers travelling later should allow more time in their journey.

Saturday 4th - Monday 6th May

What's happening?

Major engineering work will be taking place along the West Coast Mainline and London Euston railway station will be closed. More customers will be travelling with Chiltern Railways and trains will be busier than normal.

Summary of train changes:

  • A reduced frequency of one train per hour will operate on the Marylebone - Amersham - Aylesbury Vale Parkway route.
  • Additional capacity will be provided on the Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • No Chiltern Railways trains will serve Birmingham Snow Hill and stations to/from Kidderminster.

Rail replacement buses will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • There will be a service operating between Warwick Parkway - Hatton - Lapworth - Dorridge.
  • A service for customers in Kings Sutton, operating between Banbury - Kings Sutton - Bicester North.

Who will be affected?

Friday 10th May

What's happening?

Network Rail will be carrying out late night engineering work in the Beaconsfield area .

Who will be affected?

An amended timetable will operate on the High Wycombe line from London Marylebone after midnight. The following services will be affected:

  • 18.21 Marylebone - Banbury will terminate at Bicester North.
  • 00.10 Marylebone - Oxford calls additionally at Denham and Gerrards Cross.
  • 00.20 Marylebone - Leamington Spa will be the LAST train departure from Marylebone.
  • 00.25 Marylebone - Aylesbury will NOT run.
  • 01.10 Marylebone - Oxford is replaced by buses.
  • 01.24 Princes Risborough - Aylesbury (additional train).

Customers planning to travel on late night trains should check their journeys before travelling. Customers are also advised that trains will be busier than normal.
