Sunday 29th December and Monday 30th December

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works in the Haddenham and Thame area, the line between Princes Risborough and Bicester is closed all day. A heavily-amended timetable will operate on all Chiltern Railways routes and most journeys will be affected. 

Train service will operate (in both directions):

  • 3 per hour Marylebone - stations to High Wycombe (1 per hour)/Princes Risborough (1 per hour)/Aylesbury (1 per hour).
  • 2 per hour Bicester North - Banbury - stations to Birmingham Moor Street/Snow Hill.
  • 2 per hour Oxford - stations to Bicester Village.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham).
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury (via Amersham).

Rail replacement bus service will operate (in both directions):

  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village.
  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester North.
  • 2 per hour Princes Risborough - Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.

Advice to customers

Customers travelling between London - Banbury and north thereof are advised to travel via Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Bicester North, in both directions. Please check your journey before travelling. Wednesday 1st January

What's happening?

An amended Sunday timetable will operate. Additionally, due to Network Rail engineering works in the Haddenham & Thame Parkway area, the line between Princes Risborough and Bicester is closed after 23.50. 

The following services are amended:

  • 23.15 Marylebone - Oxford is CANCELLED.
  • 23.30 Marylebone - Banbury terminates at Princes Risborough. Connecting buses will operate to Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester Village, Oxford Parkway, Oxford, Bicester North and Banbury.
  • 00.05 Marylebone - Banbury terminates at Princes Risborough. A connecting bus will operate to Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester North and Banbury.

Thursday 2nd January

What's happening?

Late-night Network Rail engineering works in the Haddenham & Thame Parkway area, mean that the line between Princes Risborough and Bicester is closed after 23.50. 

The following services are amended:

  • 23.20 Marylebone - Banbury is CANCELLED.
  • 00.01 Marylebone - Oxford is CANCELLED.
  • 00.05 Marylebone - Banbury terminates at Princes Risborough. Connecting buses will operate to Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester Village, Oxford Parkway, Oxford, Bicester North and Banbury.

Friday 10th January

What's happening?

Late-night Network Rail engineering works in the Neasden area (London), mean that the line between Marylebone and Wembley Stadium is closed after 00.40. 

The following services are amended:

  • 23.36 Oxford - Marylebone terminates at West Ruislip. A connecting bus will operate at 00.40 to Marylebone (01.10).
  • 01.10 Marylebone - Oxford starts at West Ruislip at 01.22.

The following rail replacement bus services will operate from London Marylebone:

  • 01.10 Marylebone - High Wycombe (02.20) - Bicester Village (03.10) - Oxford Parkway (03.35) - Oxford (04.05).
  • 01.10 Marylebone - Gerrards Cross (01.55) - Beaconsfield (02.10) - High Wycombe (02.35) - Princes Risborough (02.55) - Haddenham & Thame Parkway (03.15) - Bicester Village (03.50) - Oxford Parkway (04.15) - Oxford (04.45).

Saturday 11th January and Sunday 12th January

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works in the Neasden area (London), the line between Marylebone and Wembley Stadium/Harrow-on-the-Hill is closed all day. No Chiltern Railways trains will operate into or out of Marylebone. A heavily-amended timetable will operate on all Chiltern Railways routes, and most journeys will be affected. Passengers may need to travel via alternative routes, on other operator's services, London Underground services and/or rail replacement bus services. Journey times will be considerably longer than usual.

Passengers who require step-free access between London - High Wycombe area, are advised to travel to/from London Paddington via Oxford using GWR services, this is due to West Ealing station platforms not being accessible.

Passengers travelling between London - Oxford, Banbury and stations to Birmingham are advised to travel to/from London PADDINGTON via Oxford using GWR services, in both directions.

Chiltern Railways train services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 1 per hour Oxford - Banbury - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 1 per hour High Wycombe - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 1 per hour Oxford - stations to West Ealing via Bicester Village and High Wycombe. Connecting trains to/from London PADDINGTON at West Ealing.
  • 1 per hour Aylesbury - stations to West Ealing via High Wycombe. Connecting trains to/from London PADDINGTON at West Ealing.
  • 1 per hour Oxford - stations to West Ruislip via Bicester Village and High Wycombe.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon.
  • 1 per hour Amersham - stations to Aylesbury.

Rail Replacement bus services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 1 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Aylesbury.
  • 1 per hour Amersham - Beaconsfield.

Due to Network Rail engineering works, the line through Wembley Stadium is closed all day, together with with HS2 preparation works at West Ruislip. A heavily-amended timetable will operate on all Chiltern Railways routes, and most journeys will be affected. Passengers may need to travel via alternative routes, on other operator's services, London Underground services and/or rail replacement bus services. Journey times will be considerably longer than usual.

Chiltern Railways train services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 1 per hour Marylebone - Bicester North - Banbury - stations to Birmingham Moor Street (diverted via Aylesbury).
  • 1 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Oxford.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham).
  • 1 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury (via Amersham).

Rail Replacement bus services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village.
  • 2 per hour High Wycombe - Amersham.
  • 3 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Hillingdon/West Ruislip (London Underground connections).
  • 1 per hour Princes Risborough - stations to Aylesbury.
