Unlike Advance tickets, you aren’t tied to a specific train, you can simply turn up and go on any Super Off-Peak service.

When can I use a Super Off-Peak ticket?
These tickets are for the quietest times, mainly outside of rush hour going to, or from work during normal working hours.
On weekdays, you cannot use them if:
- Going into London: Your train arrives at Marylebone before 11:30.
- Leaving London: Your train departs between 04:30 and 08:30, or between 16:00 and 19:00.
- Weekends and Bank Holidays: You can travel at any time! These tickets are refundable*.
*New Refund Rules:
- If you change your mind about travelling, you must apply for a refund by 23:59 the day before you travel.
- Unless there are exceptional circumstances, refunds aren't usually given on the day of travel.
- A £5 admin fee applies to all refunds.
However, if you choose not to travel as a result of disruption caused by the rail industry, we will be able to apply for your refund up until 28 days after the tickets expiry date.

Can I use a Railcard with an Off-Peak ticket?
Yes, you can use a Railcard discount on top of the Super Off-Peak price. This makes it the cheapest possible way to travel without booking a specific ‘Advance ticket’ train weeks in advance. Also, these tickets are flexible, unlike the Advance single tickets which tie you only to certain date and time for your train journey.
When can you buy a Super Off-Peak ticket?
You can buy a Super Off-Peak ticket at any time, including the day of travel.
What if I miss a train?
If you have missed your train, it’s no problem. Just hop on the next one, as long as it’s still within the Super Off-Peak time window.
My plans have changed and I need to travel with my super off-peak ticket at a restricted time, what should I do?
Visit one of our booking offices where you can change the ticket to the relevant walk-up fare to allow you to travel at the time you need by simply paying the difference in fare.
