Major engineering work is taking place this weekend between Bicester and London Marylebone.

Rail replacement buses will be in operation and most journeys will take significantly longer than normal.

Please check your journey carefully before you travel and see further detailed information below regarding the service alterations this weekend.

Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September 2026:

Amended timetable will be in operation, in respect of the following:

  • Planned engineering works at multiple locations.
  • (Bridge demolition at West Ruislip, track works at High Wycombe and drainage works at Princes Risborough).
  • Enhanced Amersham-line service.
  • Wembley Stadium event - Diljit Dosanjh (Saturday only).

The railway is closed between Northolt Park and Haddenham & Thame Parkway all day. Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains at Aylesbury Vale Parkway, Bicester Village, Bicester North, and with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Hillingdon:

  • 🚌 Hillingdon (LU) - Denham - Gerrards Cross - Beaconsfield - High Wycombe - Saunderton - Princes Risborough - Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.
  • 🚌 Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.
  • 🚌 Some late night buses will be extended to/from Banbury.

In connection with the above engineering works, an enhanced service of 2 trains per hour will operate between Marylebone and stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway for most of the day.

IMPORTANT:

Passengers travelling between Marylebone - Bicester Village/Bicester North and stations to Oxford/Birmingham should travel via Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

Passengers travelling between Marylebone - stations to Haddenham & Thame Parkway should travel via Hillingdon (LU).

In respect of the Wembley Stadium, a limited shuttle service will operate between Marylebone and Wembley Stadium before and after the event. Please note, due to the planned engineering works, it will not be possible to to travel to this event from the High Wycombe direction.
