Our First Class carriage features just 27 seats in total, creating a quieter, more spacious experience. Every seat includes:

  • Access to tables at every seat – perfect for working on the go
  • Plug sockets at every seat to keep your devices charged
  • Window blinds and ambient lighting for a more relaxed atmosphere

How to upgrade

Upgrading is simple:

  • Take a seat and your Train Manager will come to you for the upgrade purchase.
  • No advance booking, no hassle – just step on board and enjoy the upgrade.

How much is a First Class upgrade?

A First Class upgrade costs a flat £20 supplement one way, which can be paid directly to the on board Train Manager.

Is First Class wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Wheelchair-accessible seating is available in the First Class carriage, where you'll also find the accessible toilet.  There are no wheelchair-accessible spaces in Standard Class, but each carriage does include priority seats for passengers who may need them.

Do wheelchair users need to pay the First Class upgrade fee?

No - the wheelchair user plus one companion will not have to pay the First Class upgrade.
