Season tickets offer the best value if you are a commuter or regular traveller. You can purchase a weekly season ticket, or one for any period between a month and a year.
Why choose a Season Ticket?
- Free weekend travel across the Chiltern network when you buy through Chiltern and your ticket is:
- Monthly (or longer) and worth over £150/month, or
- Annual and worth over £1,500/year (Excludes Flexi‑Season)
- Annual = best value: up to 12 weeks’ travel free vs weekly, around 23% cheaper over a year, and still good value if you travel 3 days a week
- Gold Card with any Annual Season Ticket to/from a Chiltern station, unlocking extra benefits
How to buy or renew online
Quick online renewal
- In the booking panel, choose Season Ticket and select your from/to stations
- Follow the steps to view prices and complete your renewal online.
First‑time purchase
First‑time buyers should purchase in person at any Chiltern station.
However, if you’re new to Chiltern and want a Smartcard Season Ticket, you can purchase it online and load it to a Smartcard (see below).
Smartcards
If you are a new Chiltern season ticket customer, you can purchase a season ticket Smartcard on our website. Please watch the video tutorial for a detailed explanation on how to purchase a season ticket on a Smartcard.
If you are an existing Chiltern season ticket holder, head to either London Marylebone or Aylesbury ticket offices to complete a form and you will then be able to collect your new Smartcard season ticket the next working day.
If you buy or have bought your season ticket from a 3rd party ticketing company such as Trainline, you will NOT be able to put your season ticket on your Smartcard.
