Network Rail to install lifts at Warwick Station
What's Happening?
Works at the station were started in February 2023 to install two new lifts at Warwick station to improve accessibility for customers. As part of this project; the subway will also be extended to create a new set of stairs on platform 1.
The subway will reopen on 19 June 2025.
Will access to the station be impacted?
At the point of opening the subway from platform 1, the external entrance from Platform 2 will need to close for around 8 weeks to continue work on this side of the station.
These works will include widening of the doorway at the Platform 2 exit on Woodcote Road and installation of a ramp which will lead to the lift entrance. Additionally the existing steps will be replaced, as well as the installation of the fence/canopy.
This will mean that once the station subway reopens on 19 June, customers will need to access Platform 2 from the main entrance via Station Road, with a signposted walking route in place from Platform 2 to Platform 1.
How will my train be affected?
Most of our services will continue to stop as normal.
We advise customers to check your journey before travelling by using our journey planner or by downloading the Chiltern Railways app.
