Bike Racks

You’ll find information on bike parking at each Chiltern station on the individual station pages. For more information on stations operated by other train companies see the PlusBike section below.

Keeping your bike at London Marylebone

To make it easier to complete your journey without transferring to public transport, the bicycle parking at London Marylebone is now available for all customers. Previously this parking was only available for season-ticket holders. Space is limited and we will keep this under review. Please do NOT lock your bicycle to any railings or temporary barriers in the station.

Cycle routes to our stations

There are great cycle routes to many of our stations. You can explore detailed cycle route mapping on OpenStreetMap. For tips and advice on how to start cycling, and for information on the National Cycle Network routes, visit Sustrans, the UK’s cycling charity.

Taking a bike on our trains

Folding bicycles are permitted on Chiltern services at all times provided they are fully folded and stored without hindering other passengers.

Regular bicycles are carried (except tandems) on any Chiltern Railways train on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays subject to space being available, and at the discretion of our staff.

On Mondays to Fridays you can also use most of our trains. The only exceptions are our busiest peak hour services. For the safety and comfort of all our passengers, bikes are not allowed at any point during the journey on any train:

  • Arriving London Marylebone, Oxford or Birmingham Moor Street from 0745 to 1000.
  • Leaving London Marylebone, Oxford or Birmingham Moor Street from 1630 to 1930.

For further clarity please download our timetable.

Within our timetable trains shown with a not allowed symbol means that bikes are not permitted on board at any point during this service.

We are sorry that bikes cannot be taken on rail replacement buses at any time. There are no restrictions on folding bikes at any time, provided they are fully folded.

Privately owned E-scooters

Please note that privately owned E-scooters are not permitted in the station and on board our services.

At key destinations you can now hire a bike from just outside the station, making it easier to have a day out by bike or get to work on two wheels.
