London Euston station is closed to long-distance train services for six days from Friday 03 April through to Wednesday 08 April (inclusive), including the whole of the Easter weekend.
Late notice un-planned engineering work is taking place between Aylesbury and Amersham on Wednesday 08 April 2026.
As a consequence of these works, a number of timetable changes are planned, which are detailed below. These include;
Rail replacement bus services at some stations and on some routes.
On Wednesday 08 April, no train services will run between Aylesbury and London Marylebone. Customers who usually use the Metropolitan Line route (via Amersham) will need to use rail replacement bus services between Aylesbury Vale Parkway & Amersham and London Underground Metropolitan Line services between Amersham & Baker Street. This is a late notice change.
Please check before you travel and scroll down for a summary of the changes to our services.
Queueing Systems at London Marylebone (3 - 8 April)
Between April 4 and 8 inclusive we are expecting our services to be busier than usual. This is due to the closure of London Euston Station to long-distance trains and Chiltern Railways operating the only direct route between London and Birmingham.
At London Marylebone Station there will be a queueing system in place to support the safe operation of the railway. Please join the correct queue for your journey:
- Blue Queue: Services to Oxford via Bicester Village.
- Green Queue: Services to Birmingham Moor Street.
- Orange: Queue: All other services.
Please be patient - we have laid on additional trains and carriages across the whole period, and our teams will get you on your way as soon as they can.
At busy times we also anticipate a queuing system being implemented at Birmingham Moor Street.
- Wednesday 8th April 2026
An amended timetable will be in operation, in respect of the following:
- Euston - Birmingham New Street route closure.
- Planned engineering works.
- Urgent late-notice engineering work taking place between Aylesbury and Amersham.
The railway is closed between Great Missenden and Aylesbury all day. No Chiltern Railways train services will operate between Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham). Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Amersham. This is due to late notice unplanned urgent engineering works.
- Amersham - Great Missenden - Wendover - Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury - Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
Additionally, an enhanced Chiltern Railways service will operate between Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street, with lengthened and some additional trains.
Due to over-length trains, Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth will be served by rail replacement buses as follows:
- Bicester North - Kings Sutton - Banbury.
- Warwick Parkway - Hatton - Lapworth - Dorridge.
- These buses should be used for local journeys to/from Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth ONLY.
Rail replacement buses will also operate between Leamington Spa - Warwick - Stratford Upon Avon Parkway - Stratford Upon Avon each day, connecting with trains at Leamington Spa.
