The line between Aylesbury and Princes Risborough has reopened.

Network Rail and HS2 are carrying out improvement works to to prepare the way for High Speed Two (HS2) lines.

This means that you may need to make a different journey on selected dates.

2023 upcoming closures

  • 19 August to 29 October - 10-week line closure between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury for work to allow HS2 lines to pass under the existing railway

How will my journey be affected?

Saturday 19 August to Sunday 29 October

  • Buses replace trains between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury - which will run every hour. Buses replace trains between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury - which will run every hour. This also means that buses will replace trains at Aylesbury (for journeys towards Princes Risborough), Monks Risborough, Little Kimble and Princes Risborough (for journeys towards Aylesbury only).
  • Customers can change at Princes Risborough or Aylesbury for onward train services.

Customer advise and other things to note

  • There will be reduced car parking capacity at Aylesbury station between 7 – 31 August due to work that was taking place at the station until 18th August.
  • Bikes are not permitted on any bus replacement services.
  • Tickets valid for journeys passing through Amersham will be accepted by London Underground for journeys on the Metropolitan Line between Amersham and Baker Street. In addition, customers holding tickets from Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Aylesbury to London Marylebone / London Terminals, may also travel via / from Princes Risborough and any other station between Princes Risborough and London Marylebone.

Buses will replace trains between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury in both directions, calling at Monks Risborough and Little Kimble. At busy times of the day on weekdays, there will be some additional buses that run non-stop between Aylesbury and Princes Risborough (both directions) that will not call at the intermediate stations.
