Our timetable is changing

Our new timetable starts on Sunday 2 June 2024

The Chiltern Railways June 2024 timetable starts on Sunday 2nd June 2024 and has few changes, when compared to the previous timetable.

A small number of services have had their times changed by a few minutes with the aim of improving overall punctuality. Customers should check journey planners to see if their train is affected.

The main changes relate to the addition of an additional morning and evening train service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday mornings only

  • On the busiest weekday mornings, an extra train will run from Princes Risborough (0721), High Wycombe (0733) and Beaconsfield (0741) and arriving into London Marylebone at 0807. To enable this to happen, the 0637 departure from Oxford will now run directly from Haddenham & Thame Parkway to London Marylebone, calling briefly at High Wycombe only to set-down passengers, to enable onward connections. On Mondays and Fridays, the additional train will not run and after leaving Haddenham & Thame Parkway, the 0637 departure from Oxford will then call at Princes Risborough (0721), High Wycombe (0733) and Beaconsfield (0741) arriving into London Marylebone at 0803.
  • The benefit of these changes is that on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday mornings, an additional 380 seats will be provided to London at the busiest time of day. Other than increasing the likelihood of obtaining a seat, the most notable change will be for customers who travel from Haddenham or before and who are not going to London - those customers should double-check their journeys carefully as their journeys may have changed.

Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday evenings only

  • On the busiest weekday evenings, an extra train will run from London Marylebone (1737) non-stop to High  Wycombe (arr 1805) and terminating at Princes Risborough (1818). This train is expected to be popular with High Wycombe and Princes Risborough customers and will provide an additional 380 seats at the busiest time of the evening.

To enable the additional train to run, the following further changes will be made to the timetable:

  • The train that leaves London Marylebone at 1737 for Birmingham (first stop Haddenham & Thame Parkway) will leave at 1733 on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
  • The train that leaves London at 1745 for Oxford will call at Beaconsfield (and will not call at High Wycombe) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This means that on mid-week days some Beaconsfield and High Wycombe customers will benefit from more seats and the ability to get home slightly earlier.

Other weekday changes:

  • 0722 High Wycombe-Marylebone is retimed to leave at 0721 and calls additionally at South Ruislip.
  • 0753 Gerrards Cross-Marylebone is retimed to leave at 0754 and no longer calls at South Ruislip.
