Sunday 21st April 2024:

An amended timetable will be in operation, in respect of the following:

  • Planned engineering works.
  • The London Marathon.
  • Wembley Stadium event - FA Cup Semi-Final #2 (Coventry City vs Manchester United - 15.30 KO).

The railway is closed between Great Missenden and Aylesbury all day. No Chiltern Railways train services will operate between Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham). Rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains to/from Marylebone at Beaconsfield:

  • Beaconsfield - Amersham - Great Missenden - Wendover - Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury - Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

In respect of the London  Marathon, the following early morning additional services to London will operate:

  • BUS: Banbury 05.40 - Bicester North 06.10 - Aylesbury 06.45.
  • BUS: Haddenham & Thame Parkway 06.45 - Princes Risborough 07.05.
  • These two rail replacement buses will connect with the following additional train to London:
  • Aylesbury 06.58 - Princes Risborough 07.15 - Saunderton 07.21 - High Wycombe 07.28 - Gerrards Cross 07.39 - Denham 07.44 - Wembley Stadium 07.55 - Marylebone 08.06.

In respect of the Wembley Stadium event, an enhanced timetable will be in operation for most of the day, with additional Wembley Stadium stops in trains, and also some additional trains. Additionally, rail replacement buses will operate as follows for the entire day:

  • Leamington Spa - Warwick - Warwick Parkway - Stratford Upon Avon Parkway - Stratford Upon Avon.
  • Bicester North - Kings Sutton - Banbury (for local journeys to/from Kings Sutton only).
  • Warwick Parkway - Hatton - Lapworth - Dorridge (for local journeys to/from Hatton and Lapworth only).

Finalised timetables are uploaded into online journey planners 9 weeks before the date of operation. Please check your journey in the planner at the following link: https://buy.chilternrailways.co.uk/. Any journey checked outside of this timescale may be subject to change; please double-check how these amendments are due to affect your travel plans. For some engineering works and special events at Wembley Stadium, timetables may be released closer to the date of operation.
