Upcoming engineering - check how your journey will be affected

January

Saturday 18th January and Sunday 19th January

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works, the line through Wembley Stadium is closed all day, together with with HS2 preparation works at West Ruislip. A heavily-amended timetable will operate on all Chiltern Railways routes, and most journeys will be affected. Passengers may need to travel via alternative routes, on other operator's services, London Underground services and/or rail replacement bus services. Journey times will be considerably longer than usual.

Chiltern Railways train services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 1 per hour Marylebone - Bicester North - Banbury - stations to Birmingham Moor Street (diverted via Aylesbury).
  • 1 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Oxford.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham).
  • 1 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury (via Amersham).

Rail Replacement bus services will operate as follows (in both directions):

  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village.
  • 2 per hour High Wycombe - Amersham.
  • 3 per hour Gerrards Cross - stations to Hillingdon/West Ruislip (London Underground connections).
  • 1 per hour Princes Risborough - stations to Aylesbury.

In addition to this, on Sunday 19th January, rail replacement buses will operate between Kidderminster and Birmingham Moor Street (NOTE pick up and drop off will be the public bus stops outside Primark) on the following schedules:

  • Kidderminster (08.40), Stourbridge Junction (09.00), Cradley Heath (09.10), Rowley Regis (09.25), Birmingham Moor Street (10.00)
  • Birmingham Moor Street (21.50), Rowley Regis (22.20), Cradley Heath (22.35), Stourbridge Junction (22.45), Kidderminster (23.05)
  • Birmingham Moor Street (22.40), Rowley Regis (23.10), Cradley Heath (23.25), Stourbridge Junction (23.35), Kidderminster (23.55)

Saturday and Sunday: Due to engineering works in the Wembley Stadium area, Chiltern Railways tickets will be accepted on other operators’ services as follows:
•    Arriva Shires: 280 bus Haddenham & Thame Parkway/Aylesbury.
•    CrossCountry: Leamington Spa/Reading.
•    Great Western Railway: Banbury/Paddington.
•    London Underground: Bakerloo line Wembley Central/Oxford Circus; Central line West Ruislip/Oxford Circus; Metropolitan line Amersham and Hillingdon/Baker Street.

Sunday 26th January

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works between Birmingham and Stourbridge Junction, no Chiltern Railways services will operate between Kidderminster and Birmingham Moor Street. Chiltern Railways Marylebone/Birmingham services will serve Birmingham Moor Street ONLY.

Advice to customers

Passengers travelling to/from Birmingham Snow Hill and stations to Kidderminster are advised to use West Midlands Trains services.

Monday 27th January

What's happening?

In connection with overnight Network Rail engineering works, rail replacement buses will operate between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway after 21.35, and also between High Wycombe/Princes Risborough and stations to Aylesbury after 00.20.

Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th January

What's happening?

In connection with overnight Network Rail engineering works, the following trains are amended as shown:

  • 05.02 Aylesbury - Marylebone starts at High Wycombe at 05.31. A connecting rail replacement bus will operate as follows: 04.30 Aylesbury - Little Kimble (04.45) - Monks Risborough (04.52) - Princes Risborough (05.00) - Saunderton (05.05) - High Wycombe (05.20).

Additionally, rail replacement buses will operate between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway after 21.35, and also between High Wycombe/Princes Risborough and stations to Aylesbury after 00.20.

Friday 31st January

What's happening?

In connection with overnight Network Rail engineering works, the following train is amended as shown:

  • 05.02 Aylesbury - Marylebone starts at High Wycombe at 05.31. A connecting rail replacement bus will operate as follows: 04.30 Aylesbury - Little Kimble (04.45) - Monks Risborough (04.52) - Princes Risborough (05.00) - Saunderton (05.05) - High Wycombe (05.20).

February

Sunday 2nd February

What's happening?

Network Rail engineering works between Birmingham and Stourbridge Junction mean that no Chiltern Railways services will operate between Kidderminster and Birmingham Moor Street. Chiltern Railways Marylebone/Birmingham services will serve Birmingham Moor Street ONLY.

Additionally, due to late night Network Rail engineering works in the Banbury area, the following trains between Marylebone and Banbury will be affected:

  • 23.30 Marylebone - Banbury: This train will be replaced by a bus between Bicester North and Banbury.
  • 00.05 Marylebone - Banbury: This train will be replaced by buses between Bicester North and Kings Sutton/Banbury.

Advice to customers

Passengers travelling to/from Birmingham Snow Hill and stations to Kidderminster are advised to use West Midlands Trains services.
