Upcoming engineering - check how your journey will be affected

Sunday 3rd November

What's happening?

Due to early morning Network Rail engineering works in the Birmingham area, the following trains will be replaced by buses between Birmingham Snow Hill and Dorridge (these buses will NOT call at Birmingham Moor Street):

  • 08.25 Birmingham Moor Street - Marylebone
  • 08.55 Birmingham Moor Street - Marylebone
  • 09.12 Birmingham Snow Hill - Marylebone

Amended Train Times:

Advice to customers

The first through trains from Birmingham will be the 09.41 Birmingham Moor Street - Leamington Spa and the 09.55 Birmingham Moor Street - Marylebone. Northbound services are unaffected. Journey times will be longer than usual and customers should check their journey before travelling.

Monday 4th - Thursday 7th November

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works in the Aylesbury area, rail replacement buses will operate between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway after 21.35. During this period, journey times will be longer than usual.

December

Sunday 8th December

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works between Great Missenden and Aylesbury, this section of line is closed until 11.00. During this period, an amended timetable will operate between Marylebone and Stations to Great Missenden. 

Rail replacement buses will operate (in both directions):

  • Great Missenden - Wendover - Stoke Mandeville - Aylesbury - Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

Sunday 29th December and Monday 30th December

What's happening?

Due to Network Rail engineering works in the Haddenham and Thame area, the line between Princes Risborough and Bicester is closed all day. A heavily-amended timetable will operate on all Chiltern Railways routes and most journeys will be affected. 

Train service will operate (in both directions):

  • 3 per hour Marylebone - stations to High Wycombe (1 per hour)/Princes Risborough (1 per hour)/Aylesbury (1 per hour).
  • 2 per hour Bicester North - Banbury - stations to Birmingham Moor Street/Snow Hill.
  • 2 per hour Oxford - stations to Bicester Village.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon.
  • Periodic service Leamington Spa - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham).
  • 2 per hour Marylebone - Aylesbury (via Amersham).

Rail replacement bus service will operate (in both directions):

  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester Village.
  • 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway - Bicester North.
  • 2 per hour Princes Risborough - Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Bicester Village - Bicester North.
