Changes to car park prices

From Monday 2 October 2017

Following a two-year freeze of car park prices, from Monday 2 October, day ticket car parking at most Chiltern Railways stations will increase by up to £1. Car park season tickets will not increase at this time and current car park season tickets will remain valid.

Investment has also been made in technology to make payment much more convenient. Customers now no longer need to return to their cars after paying for parking when purchasing tickets via the self-service machines.

As a result, the payment machines in the car park will no longer be in service and payments can be made via a number of ways. These include by mobile phone with RingGo, via the self-service machines at the station or from the booking office. We’ve also introduce ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) at Warwick Parkway and Beaconsfield stations which we will roll out to other stations.

Over the last five years the Chiltern route has seen car park spaces increase by 2,278 spaces constituting an investment of over £16 million.  Projects include the construction of new multi-storey car parks at Solihull, Warwick Parkway and Banbury and new car parks at Leamington Spa, Oxford Parkway and Bicester Village stations.

If you wish to purchase your car parking ticket via the booking office, you are still required to display the ticket in your car. We advise you to purchase your ticket in advance of the day of travel, to enable you to display in your car on arrival at the station.
