August Bank Holiday 2017

August Bank Holiday Weekend 2017 - Extremely busy services between London and Birmingham. 

Preparation work for the brand new high speed railway will affect Chiltern services. Significantly increased numbers of customers are expected and therefore, our trains will be extremely busy on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August 2017.

During this time we also have Wembley events on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Travel advice for Saturday and Sunday:

London-High Wycombe-Oxford-Banbury-Birmingham:

  • An amended timetable will run on Saturday and Sunday and trains will be re-timed.
  • All services and stations are expected to be extremely busy.
  • DO NOT TRAVEL to/from stations between Banbury and Birmingham unless absolutely necessary and instead, travel either side of the Bank Holiday weekend.
  • All Birmingham trains will start from/terminate at Birmingham Moor Street.
  • Queuing systems will be in place at some stations.
  • No trains will serve Lapworth or Hatton. A mini bus shuttle will run between Dorridge and Warwick Parkway which will serve Lapworth and Hatton.
  • Bus replacement services will run between Leamington Spa and Stratford-Upon-Avon.
  • If you are travelling to any of the Wembley events, please do so from Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross or Denham.
  • Please check before you travel.

London – Aylesbury (Via Amersham):

  • An amended timetable will run on Saturday and Sunday and trains will be re-timed.
  • All trains and stations are expected to be very busy.
  • A reduced frequency of one train per hour will run between Marylebone and Aylesbury.
  • Replacement bus services will run between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway from 17.30 onwards.
  • Please check before you travel.
