A tube strike is planned from 18:30 on Wednesday 8 July that will affect London Underground services from early evening 8th July to the end of service on the 9th July.

If the strike goes ahead, Chiltern Railways services will be affected on the route to London from Aylesbury via Amersham and at London Underground managed stations that we serve.

It will not impact on our Aylesbury via High Wycombe services but we are likely to be busier than normal.

An overview of our service is available below and we will provide further information later today:

WEDNESDAY 8th JULY

  • Aylesbury via Amersham line - We will run normally, however will need to close earlier than normal on the Aylesbury line via Amersham due to the availability of London Underground signallers.

  • Later trains will go to Aylesbury via the High Wycombe line and we will run shuttles between Aylesbury and Great Missenden.

  • Birmingham - Banbury - High Wycombe - London Marylebone line  - This line (which also runs services to Aylesbury via High Wycombe) will operate as normal.

THURSDAY 9th JULY

  • Aylesbury via Amersham line - The train service will run normally from around 0930.  In the early morning, trains from Aylesbury will run via High Wycombe with two shuttles connecting passengers from Great Missenden to Aylesbury.  From around approx 07:00, services from Aylesbury will run non-stop from Great Missenden.  After approx 09:30, services will run as normal and this will continue until the end of the day.
