Chiltern Railways have joined forces with William Shakespeare to launch the Shakespeare Explorer ticket.
To celebrate this on Thursday 3rd April, a Madame Tussaud’s figure will journey on a Chiltern Railways train from London Marylebone to Stratford-upon-Avon and back again.
It will then be on display at London Marylebone for the rest of the day and will be joined in the evening by acclaimed actor, Tony Howes, who will read and perform some of Shakespeare’s famous scenes.
Peter Owen, Marketing Director at Chiltern Railways said: “We run direct trains to Stratford upon Avon, and we want to give you the chance to find out more about England’s most famous playwright and explore Warwickshire.
“The Shakespeare Explorer is a flexible, great value ticket that allows you to get out and about on our network, especially in Shakespeare Country. We’re also launching a new Stratford-upon-Avon discount leaflet giving you money off the attractions that you want to go and see while exploring.”
