Managing Director of Chiltern Railways, Cath Proctor has announced that she will leave the company at the end of August.Cath was appointed MD at Chiltern Railways in February 2004 and has been a strategic driving force for continuing the company’s growth.
She has been an inspiration to her staff during her 15 year career in the rail industry and has significantly contributed to Chiltern Railway’s success and performance.
She was responsible for putting Chiltern Railways back on the road to recovery after the tunnel collapse at Gerrards Cross, which lost the company a year’s worth of growth. The company is once again financially stable and growing.
Chiltern Railways is once again a leading train operating company in the UK with passenger satisfaction at its highest for six years.
Cath said: “I feel enormously proud of all that we have achieved at Chiltern Railways and the way we have recovered ourselves after some very difficult times.
“This has not been an easy decision. This company and its staff have been important to me for a very long time.
“I wish them all the best in achieving what I know will be a very exciting and successful future.”
Cath stands down as MD with effect from Monday 18th June, when Adrian Shooter becomes Acting Managing Director as well as Chairman until further notice.
Cath will take the role of General Manager and Deputy to Adrian Shooter until 31st August.
