New Timetable commences on Sunday

Date: 05 Dec 2007 10:53

Chiltern Railways, the National Rail Awards passenger operator of the year, is advising passengers to take time to familiarise themselves with the new winter timetable that comes into effect on Sunday 9 December 2007.

Full copies of the new timetable are now available at all Chiltern Railways staffed stations and on the website at www.chilternrailways.co.uk.

Adrian Shooter, Chairman of Chiltern Railways said: “We continue to listen to feedback from passengers and, where practical, have made changes you’ve asked for. Other changes are primarily designed to further improve the punctuality of your services which, in 2007, has reached an average of 94% of trains on time.”

The main changes include:

• Two non stop trains from London Marylebone at 1833 and 1933 to Beaconsfield.

• A direct service from Aylesbury to High Wycombe at 0835 and an additional direct service from Princes Risborough to London Marylebone at 0849.

• An additional 2300 Wembley Stadium to London Marylebone service to cater for those attending events at Wembley.

• There will be a new weekday departure from London Marylebone at 0800 to High Wycombe. This will call at Wembley Stadium, Sudbury Hill Harrow, South Ruislip, West Ruislip, Denham, Gerrards Cross, Seer Green and Jordans, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe. There will also be a new 0824 weekday departure from London Marylebone to Bicester North. This will call at Northolt Park, Gerrards Cross, Seer Green and Jordans, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Saunderton, Princes Risborough, Haddenham and Thame Parkway and Bicester North. As a result, we will no longer be running the 0809 train service from London Marylebone to Gerrards Cross.

• On Saturdays, the last train from Snow Hill to London Marylebone at 2111 will call additionally at Denham and South Ruislip, offering a later southbound service at these stations.

• Sunday service at Seer Green and Jordans doubled to an hourly service.

• As is usual in the winter months, there will be no through Sunday service to Stratford-Upon-Avon, but connections still allow an easy day out in Shakespeare County.

This timetable will run until Saturday 17th May 2008.
