Take the train and celebrate 400 years of Banbury’s town charter.
The original charter document was signed by King James 1 on June 28, 1608, is on display in Banbury Museum and will stay there until December.
The charter meant that Banbury became a mayoral town and was able to govern itself by means of a council.
Banbury has lots of events planned throughout the year, here are just a few:
• May Day Celebrations
• Canal Day
• Picnic in People’s Park
• Historical Pageant
• Festival of Arts Week
Please see the PDF document below, which lists all the events taking place throughout the year.
