Chiltern Railways, who recently achieved the highest ever annual punctuality rate of any train company, are advising passengers to take time to familiarise themselves with the new summer timetable that comes into effect on Sunday 18th May 2008.
Full copies of the new timetable are now available at all Chiltern Railways staffed stations and on the website at www.chilternrailways.co.uk.
Adrian Shooter, Chairman of Chiltern Railways said: “We listen to our passengers and work hard to give them the high quality service they demand. This means that we often have to adjust our timetable to meet the needs of our passengers and continue to deliver these landmark punctuality rates.”
The main changes include:
• Changes to some peak stops at West Ruislip and South Ruislip to increase connections with London Underground’s Central Line.
• Starting the former 0835 from Aylesbury via High Wycombe at Princes Risborough instead. This allows 3 busy peak trains to be increased in length by 1 carriage each.
• A later train on Saturday nights from Aylesbury via High Wycombe.
• A later train from London to Warwick and Warwick Parkway on Friday nights – ideal for theatre-goers.
• Longer trains on many services on Friday nights and at weekends, providing more seats to meet increasing demand at these times.
• Regular through Sunday services to Stratford-upon-Avon reintroduced for the summer, allowing an easy day out in Shakespeare Country.
This timetable will run until the 13th December 2008.
