AYLESBURY ENGINEERING WORKS 18 – 20 NOVEMBER:HOW WILL IT AFFECT MY JOURNEY?
Services from Aylesbury Vale Parkway will start on the 14th of December but in order for this to happen, we need to carry out some important engineering works which may have an affect on your journey.
We appreciate that this will cause disruption and we apologise for this but we are doing everything we can to minimise any inconvenience.
To help you plan your journeys during this time and to answer any questions you may have, we have prepared this short guide.
WHAT IS HAPPENING AND WHEN?
Tuesday 18th November
- An amended timetable will operate from 2200 and rail replacement coaches will operate for services later that evening.

Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th November
- Coaches will replace train services all day between Aylesbury and Princes Risborough and between Aylesbury and Wendover.
- Only one platform will be in use at Great Missenden and Wendover and a reduced frequency of train service will operate between Wendover and Marylebone with no trains stopping at Rickmansworth at peak times.
- Wendover station will not be accessible for wheelchair customers during these 2 days. Wheelchair customers should use Great Missenden.

Car Parking during this time
There will be free parking at Aylesbury and Stoke Mandeville with a shuttle bus operating to and from Wendover where services will be resuming. Car park season ticket holders are welcome to use any other Chiltern Railways car park, including Haddenham & Thame Parkway and Beaconsfield.
Season Ticket holders
Aylesbury via Amersham line season tickets will be accepted on the Birmingham – High Wycombe – Marylebone route.

- What is Aylesbury Vale Parkway?
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway is a new parkway station that will be built three miles north-west of Aylesbury on the A41.
- When is it expected to open?
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway is expected to open on the 14th December.
- What is happening in November?
- In order to open in time, it’s necessary to carry out some engineering work to connect the new station to the existing Chiltern signalling system . While we have tried to keep disruption to a minimum, it does mean that there will be changes to our normal service from Tuesday 18th November until Thursday 20th November.
- Why is this happening during midweek and not during the weekend?
- This is the only time that Network Rail engineering staff are available to carry out the work.
- Will there be any compensation for season tickets who normally pay for car parking? Will season ticket holders have to pay to use other car parks?
- There will not be compensation for season ticket holders, who normally pay for car parking at Aylesbury or Stoke Mandeville. However, they will be allowed to use their season ticket to park for free at other car parks.
- Will season tickets be accepted on the Chiltern Railways Birmingham to London via High Wycombe route?
- Yes. Season tickets will be accepted from Haddenham & Thame and all stations south.
