The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra's 2012 schedule is action packed and next month is no different.
On February 9th, guest conductor Edward Gardner will lead the orchestra and pianist Ingrid Fliter will take to the stage at Birmingham's Symphony Hall to paint a vivid aural picture of the early 20th century with arguably Beethoven's darkest concerto.
The concert, which is taking bookings now, will present three works from three renowned composers - Bartok, Beethoven and Debussy. Painting an impressionist landscape for the listener that soaks up the sun of rural Spain and the arrival of spring, the show has a distinct English folk influence that will make itself apparent from the outset.
During the course of the evening, listeners will be treated to Bartok's Orchestral Pieces, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Debussy's Images.
Tickets cost between £10 and £39.50 and are available online.
