QUESTION: Many services are beginning to become overcrowded.
ANSWER: Our services have become much busier over the last few months. There is no quick win because our trains are now out of production and none of the same standard is available second hand. We are looking hard at ways to get more carriages and expect a package of measures to be announced shortly.
QUESTION: Why are you so bad at giving out information when the train service is disrupted?
ANSWER: Our information systems were designed at a time when there were far fewer trains and is being replaced shortly. At the moment a number of our stations have trial automatic equipment, which runs off a broadband link. If successful this should really help matters.
QUESTION: Could drivers please make announcements about the quiet coach.
ANSWER: The Quiet Coach is well signposted and staff are briefed to make announcements.
QUESTION: The car park at High Wycombe is difficult to get out of, principally because of legions of people sitting in cars all over the approach road waiting to collect passengers.
ANSWER: We are trying to agree plans to completely redevelop High Wycombe Station. Within the current layout there is almost nothing that can be done. Space is very limited and demand ever increasing. In our view this demonstrates why re-developing the station is so important for High Wycombe.
QUESTION: We are getting new gates at Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross and Leamington Spa, but why has there been no communication about the changes?
ANSWER: This is somewhat puzzling to us as there have been stories in local newspapers, posters and information in our publications about these schemes. We have also had Meet the Managers Sessions at some of these sites. We are open to suggestions but believe a very thorough job was done in communicating these changes, designed to crack down on theft, anti social behaviour and fraud; which is to our passengers benefit.
