Q Disabled passenger complained about able bodied persons taking disabled seats on peak departures from Marylebone and could announcements be made and better signage by seats?
A this will be discussed with internal stakeholders (Operationss regarding driver announcements, Marketing regarding advice on signage on trains, then Fleet).
Q On board Catering – several passengers stated that they would prefer evening catering rather than morning catering in order to unwind on the way home and maybe enjoy an alcoholic drink. The same passengers felt the morning service was underused.
A The changes made to the catering cover were in response to passenger feedback indicating that, given the choice of either a morning service or an evening service, the morning would be preferred. We are, however, continually looking at optimising the commercial viability of the service and do not rule out further changes in the future that could include the inclusion of evening trains.
Q The scrolling calling points on the new Departure Screens are not handy when rushing for train. Would it be possible for a ‘Next train to..’ for principal stations to be added to the information screen?
A We will examine this possibility.
Q The early removal of trains from the Departure Screens means that passengers unnecessarily miss train, sometimes three minutes before departure. Can this be avoided?
A For the safety of passengers and to reduce risk of slips, trips and falls, departures from platforms 4, 5 and 6 are removed two minutes before departure, and one minute before departure for trains leaving from other platforms.
Q Why are the on-train information displays not working consistently?
A Work is ongoing to correct known defects; we have had problems with materials supply from the manufacturer.
Q Why can't LUL staff at Amersham put information about the special Chiltern engineering work timetables on display in the booking hall?
A We conducted unannounced visits to all LUL managed stations where our trains also stop, and posters were on display at Amersham in the Booking Hall. It is the responsibility of the train operator in charge of the station to display all literature sent by other operators. Our Changes to Train Times posters are delivered in hand every week and signed for. While complaints should be addressed to the relevant operator responsible for the station, we will continue to monitor them as best as we can.
Q Why is there such a long gap between trains to High Wycombe from 1751 to 1809?
A After the 1751 departure leaves London for High Wycombe, we have departures at 1800 and 1803 that run non stop to stations north of High Wycombe. Since the 1800 is timed to pass through High Wycombe just after the 1751 has terminated, there is no scope to run any other train to High Wycombe before the current 1809.
Q Any chance of running quicker services to London from Warwick Parkway?
A We are looking at re-working the December 2010 timetable with faster trains between Birmingham and London, which will benefit Warwick Parkway users.
Q Can there be an early morning train from Chorleywood to London between 0530 and 0600?
A At present there are no plans to introduce any additional services from this station to Marylebone within the time band specified.
Q With the addition of Platforms 5 and 6, it was expected that trains would be adveritsed long in advance, but frequently the platforn numbers are still not advertised more than a few minutes before departure. Why is that ?
A We do all we can to advertise platforms as quickly as possible, this cannot be done when an incoming number of train units have to be “split” to form two or more outgoing service, and makes us unable to advertise 2 trains from the same platform. When there is a delay to boarding, announcements are made advising why and information also displayed on the screens.
