There is no shortage of choice for eating and drinking in London. Fine dining options are plentiful in Mayfair, Notting Hill and Kensington, but why not go off the beaten track and try something a bit different?
The world famous Brick Lane, in the East End, is the heart of London’s Bangladeshi community and has some of the finest curry restaurants in Britain if not the world. The food is cheap, plentiful and, most importantly, very tasty.
The West End has a reputation for disappointing restaurants aimed at undiscerning tourists and visitors. But if you look past these, you’ll find an exciting variety of options to suit all palates and budgets.
Finally, many of London’s most exclusive hotels such as Claridge's, the Dorchester and the Ritz open their doors in the afternoon for afternoon tea. A relaxing few hours enjoying fine tea and indulging in scones, jam and clotted cream in opulent surroundings can be the highlight of any visit to London. Just remember to book well in advance and the hotels can very often have strict dress codes.
