A darkly humorous musical adaptation of Gregory Maguire's novel Wicked is currently onstage in London.
Wicked follows the life and times of Elphaba, the misunderstood Wicked Witch of the West, best know for being turned into a puddle by Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.
It shows how the witches of Oz came to be, following their less-than-illustrious university careers and battle against the Wizard's oppression.
The Washington Post described the musical as "a breathtaking success story of a magnitude the theatre has not witnessed since the peak years of The Phantom of the Opera".
Tickets are available for between £30 and £65, although there are discounts available for groups and reductions for shows from Monday to Thursday. They can be booked through the London Theatre Direct website.
London's Apollo Victoria Theatre is a short walk from Victoria station. Theatre-goers travelling in from Birmingham and across the Midlands can catch the Chiltern Railways line into the capital and then change for the Underground.
