August 14th - 16th, 2009
The O2 in London will play host to the Four Nations Basketball Tournament.
Opening on Friday August 14th and running until Saturday August 16th, the event will see the Great Britain basketball team compete against squads from Turkey, Poland and Israel.
The event precedes the European EuroBasket Championships, which will be held in Poland this September.
The UK basketballers will compete against all three teams over the course of the weekend.
Commenting on the event, Chris Finch, coach for the British team said: "Poland have a strong tradition and Turkey are probably the dark horses... while we know from last year that Israel are a tough side."
There are several NBA stars in all of the teams, including Luol Deng, captain of the Chicago Bulls, Ben Gordon, also of the Chicago Bulls, and Pops Menash-Bonsu from the Toronto Raptors.
Basketball fans can travel to London for the event on Chiltern Railways.
