Cornershop at Birmingham's O2 Academy

July 31st, 2009

British indie band Cornershop are embarking on a UK tour this summer and will be appearing in Birmingham this July.

The group, which shot to fame with the hit single Brimful of Asha, will play the O2 Academy in Birmingham on Friday July 31st.

Marking the seventh anniversary of the release of the group's last album, the concert promises to be a special occasion for both the band and fans.

Tickets to event cost £12 and are available online and doors at the gig will open at 18:30 BST.

In May, Cornershop released the first single from their forthcoming studio album.

The song, which is called The Roll Off Characteristic, has an anti-war, pro-people message, according to the band and was called "the perfect soundtrack to festival season" by BBC Radio 1's Nihal.

Cornershop fans can travel to Birmingham for the gig on Chiltern Railways.
