October 02nd - November 15th, 2008
One of William Shakespeare's rarer-performed plays, Love's Labour's Lost features on the boards at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon this autumn.
This comedy tells the tale of the King of Navarre and the nobles of his court, who vow to stay away from the charms of women for three years while they dedicate themselves to study.
Berowne, who is somewhat more hesitant than the others, warns that the self-imposed rule is foolhardy as the Princess of France and her entourage are coming to the kingdom.
The princess is forced to set up camp outside the confines of the court and, needless to say, the gents fall hopelessly in love with the females.
Directed by the Royal Shakespeare Company's chief associate director Gregory Doran, this promises to be a thrilling production.
