June 02nd - 20th, 2008
Promoting both contemporary and Classical music, the summer leg of the biannual Spitalfields festival kicks off in Tower Hamlets on June 2nd.
With a diverse line up confirmed over the three week festival, this year's event look to be as popular as ever.
Notable performances include the flagship In The House tour, which is the preliminary event of the festival.
Those attending will be taken into the historic houses of the Fournier area to bear witness to five intimate gigs by a number of artists including work by Royal Academy of Music students.
Spitalfields has received much support since it first began in 1976, with the Independent praising the beautiful setting in which the festival resides.
"[It] should be praised to the rooftops. So much of its planning and feel is intelligent, and it embraces community in its widest sense," the paper adds.
Tickets for the many performances and tours are available for purchase online via the official website.
