Starting with a production by the Scottish Opera nearly a decade ago, the opera has also seen renditions by Opera North, with Edward Gardner conducting for the Coliseum performance.

For those wishing to attend, there are a range of tickets still available online via the English National Opera website, with balcony seats starting at £10.
According to the Financial Times, David McVicar's production "ranked as one of his supreme achievements".
On the opening and closing nights, there will also be pre-performance talks from Julian Johnson and John Deathridge, with tickets available for the lecture priced at £4.
