New generation arts in Birmingham

June 05th - 20th, 2008

A 16-day programme of innovative regional art shows will be taking place in Birmingham from June 5th to June 20th.

The New Generation Arts (NGA) Festival has been organised by Birmingham City University and will showcase new art along with musical acts, digital technology and fashion.

On June 18th, 22 of the hottest new designers from Birmingham City University will be displaying their debut collections in a catwalk show.

The event is championed by industry heavyweights including supermodel Erin O'Connor, designer Betty Jackson and fashion director Lee Lapthorne. Ms O'Connor even recently commissioned a jacket from one of the graduates.

Visitors will also be in with the chance of winning a five mega pixel mobile phone by sending pictures of themselves and their friends in city settings to the NGA website.

Anyone from elsewhere in the Midlands hoping to get to the event can reach Birmingham on Chiltern Railways.
