Africa Day in London
Information Updated: 30-04-2008
The annual celebration of African heritage and culture is being held in Trafalgar Square this May.
Held each year on May 25th, this vibrant festival will use live music and dance to recreate Africa's culture here in the UK.
In addition, there will be arts, crafts and food on sale, making it a fun day out or a perfect place to buy gifts.
The festival has been taking place since 1958 and is celebrated across a number of countries.
"Africa Day 2008 takes place once again at our famous Trafalgar Square - last year's event was hit by poor weather so fingers crossed the weather will be kinder to us this year," enthused a Diary Star blogger.
Reaching Trafalgar Square is easy, even for festival-goers living outside the capital. The Chiltern Railways line travels throughout the midlands and beyond and stops at Marylebone station.
