To lead the drivers and develop, implement and maintain train operating standards in order that reliability and punctuality targets are met. Ensure that all appropriate policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to and all such activities comply with the relevant sections of the Safety Management System, the current HSQE Plan and any applicable Railway Group Standards. To work under your own supervision liaising with Driver Managers at all other locations with regard to any operational or assessment implications.

The skills and competence of our staff is crucial to the success of the engineering team in providing safety, reliable and welcoming trains every day. We are increasing the staff dedicated to training & competence and want to recruit a Trainer/Assessor to focus on safety training, technical training and competence assessment.
The purpose of the role is to undertake technical training, competence training and assessment to support Production, Operations, Traincare, Plant & Building and other engineering activities.
You will be required to;
• Develop, present and deliver engineering based training courses as agreed with the engineering Training Manager and the requirement of the fleet team
• Develop and deliver the engineering competency regime as agreed with the engineering Training Manager and the requirement of the fleet team. Carry out competency assessments as required
Previous experience of training & assessment is preferable but if you do not have them, then training will be provided. If you have the necessary skills, determination and drive we would love to hear from you.
